SERU test centre and SERU booking
Where you sit it, how you book it, what you have to bring, what it costs and how long the result takes. Each line says which TfL notice it came off and the day we read it.
Read this first. The address, the booking email, the list of what to bring and the result time on this page are all out of TfL Notice 06/25, which is the taxi driver notice. TfL calls the two assessments similar and they are still separate assessments. Confirm each one with TfL for the private hire assessment when you book.
Where the assessment happens
TfL Driver Assessment Centre, 14 Pier Walk, London SE10 0ES
TfL Notice 06/25 puts the centre near The O2. SE10 is a Greenwich postcode, in south east London, so a driver searching for a Greenwich SERU centre is searching for this one address.
From TfL Notice 06/25, dated 2 September 2025, read on 7 October 2026.
How to book
TfL Notice 06/25 says to book by email, at assessments@tph.tfl.gov.uk. It also says TfL contacts drivers when it is time to book, so you may hear from them first.
There is no phone number in that notice, and no online booking form in it either. We do not print either one, because TfL has not published either one. If another site gives you a SERU booking phone number, ask them where they got it.

What it costs, and why you will see two sets of figures
The TfL private hire SERU page, read on 7 October 2026, says the assessment costs £40 and a resit costs £30.
TfL Notice 06/25, dated 2 September 2025, puts the taxi assessment at £36 and a retest at £16. TfL writes that the taxi charges are consistent with the current private hire vehicle driver assessment charges.
Those two do not match. The notice is from 2 September 2025 and the private hire page was read on 7 October 2026, so the likeliest reason is simply that the fee went up in between. We are not going to guess which figure applies to you on the day. Take the card and check the price with TfL when you book.
How long the result takes
TfL Notice 06/25 says results arrive within a maximum of 15 days. It says that about the taxi assessment. TfL has published no such figure for private hire.
Before you spend the fee
A booked assessment costs money and a resit costs money again. Ten of our questions cost nothing and take a few minutes, and they name the sections you are weak in.
No sign up. Full access is £0.99, one payment. See also the SERU pass mark and pass rate and what the questions look like.
